Thunder Over Louisville
Thunder Over Louisville brings colorful excitement as we ramp up to the Derby. Created as the Opening Ceremonies of the Kentucky Derby Festival, it offers an explosive kick-off to two weeks of celebration. With an estimated attendance of half a million people, it has become the largest annual event in the region and the biggest annual pyrotechnics display in North America. April 12 from 3 p.m. to 11p.m. at Waterfront Park. Find more info here.

Frankfort Ave. Easter Parade
It’s the 31st Annual Frankfort Ave. Easter Parade! The free, family-friendly event kicks off in front of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. The day will be full of characters, candy, floats, dancing, antique cars and the Easter Bunny! This parade isn’t just for spectators. Take part by wearing a costume and decking out your wagon, big wheel or car. Judges will be looking for the most egg-ceptional entries, awarding the coveted “Good Ears” prizes to the most creative floats and participants. April 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
