PARIS OLYMPICS BY THE NUMBERS
The Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympic Games are underway, having started officially on July 26. They will continue through August 11.
Paris, along with Los Angeles and London, is the only city to have hosted the summer Games three times—in 1900, 1924 and 2024.

2024 Cardinal Challenge
The University of Louisville’s Cardinal Challenge was held at the end of July. Axiom is a sponsor of this annual event. The challenge is an academic competition with real-world opportunities and experiences designed to “stimulate and reward innovative thinking and entrepreneurial persistence.” The teams present their original business concepts for a chance to win business start-up cash prizes. This year’s challenge featured students from the Innovation MBA, Global MBA and Professional MBA programs. Go here for more on the challenge and the winners.

Family Business Center Summit
Coming up in September is another event at U of L for which Axiom is the title sponsor. You are invited to attend a keynote speech and panel featuring the family behind Donatos Pizza, a 60-year-old, $250M family-owned restaurant company founded by James Grote, when he was just 19 years old. His daughter, Jane Grote, Executive Chairwoman and Chief Purpose Officer, will lead the discussion, along with two of the next generation family members. Vaughan Scott will be the facilitator. Summer Games Exhibit
The Summer Games at KMAC Contemporary Art Museum coincides with the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The exhibition looks at how the intersection of art and sports, as well as other gaming and recreational activities, have led artists to new aesthetic and intellectual pursuits. The exhibit features paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations and interactive games. Runs through August 18. For more information, click here.

Downtown Drive-In
The outdoor movie night series, Downtown Drive-Ins, is back at Waterfront Park. Enjoy an outdoor theater experience with the whole family. The series takes place on select Friday nights through October. There are snacks and beer for purchase and to-go “movie boxes” from Pig Beach BBQ. Movie-goers are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the viewing. No tickets required, so arrive early to save your seat. Dogs are allowed. Find details here.

Bourbon & Charcuterie Class
The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience welcomes Chef Neet to the Speakeasy for year three of its fan-favorite Charcuterie Class.You’ll learn how to select, prepare and arrange ingredients to create the perfect board. During the demo, you’ll taste three Bourbon and charcuterie pairings and learn how to pair your favorite spirit with sweet or savory bites. Afterward, you create your own custom board to take home.
