Celebrating Valentine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day, you can go the extravagant route or celebrate in a simple, thoughtful way. While many people think of couples celebrating the holiday, everyone can celebrate the loving message of the day, whether alone, with friends, with a partner or with your extended family. 

Here are some Valentine’s Day ideas.

For Couples:

  • Enjoy a candlelit dinner at home or a favorite restaurant
  • Get a couples massage
  • Take a sunset walk
  • Recreate your first date
  • Do an at-home wine tasting paired with a charcuterie board
  • Take a class/workshop together
  • Have a romantic movie marathon with favorite films, blankets and snacks

For Singles:

  • Sleep in late
  • Relax at a spa day
  • Eat your favorite foods for every meal
  • Buy yourself flowers
  • Get together with friends for a meal 
  • Go to the gym or take a hike in nature
  • Have a Galentines slumber party

Welcome to the Team!

Meet our new team member, Sawyer Lillard, who joined Axiom last month. Sawyer graduated from the University of Missouri with a major in finance and banking. He’s originally from Jefferson City, MO. Sawyer is a Financial Paraplanner, which means he will be assisting the more senior advisors in creating plans for their clients. He’s looking forwarding to learning from the Axiom professionals and building a career in wealth management. Glad to have you on board Sawyer!

Summer Interns

We’re also excited to share four new interns will join us this summer: Nathan Julius (Hanover College), Jacob Harbeson (Indiana University), Ben Siegel (Kansas University) and Casey Kaelin (DePauw University). During their 8-week programs, the interns will assist financial planners with document preparation, investment modeling and performance reporting. They’ll also learn about retirement planning and gain exposure to the latest financial planning software platforms.

Supporting A Great Cause

Axiom is proud to be the official sponsor of Girls Just Wanna Dance…For Good, a women-only dance party with a purpose. The Galentines Day-themed event will bring together 200 women leaders from across Southern Indiana and Greater Louisville for a night of music, connection and community impact. Every ticket purchased directly supports CASA of Floyd County, an organization in critical need, as it advocates for children navigating abuse and neglect cases. February 5 at The Magnolia in Clarksville. Social Security Scam

A warning has been issued about a new Social Security scam. The scam is an email alert telling people their social security number might be suspended because of “criminal activity.” The Federal Inspector General for the SSA says you should be suspicious if you receive an email with the subject line “Alert: Social Security Account Issues Detected.” Go here to learn more. 

Housing Trends for 2026

Mortgage rates, inventory, home prices and rental rates all affect the housing market. What will the market look like in 2026? According to Realtor.com, it should be a more balanced market this year, after several years of volatility. Here are some key points to keep in mind if you are looking to buy or sell a home.

The Great Gatsby

Kindle the Flame

Enjoy a unique date with your Valentine at the Vintage Fire Museum, in Jeffersonville, IN. On February 14, there will be champagne for toasting each other. Couples can also pose for a photo taken on a vintage fire truck, receive a package of Schimpff’s heart-shaped red hots, and explore the Museum in a softly-lit, “romantic” atmosphere. 5 to 7 p.m. More info can be found here.

A Year With Frog & Toad

This Broadway hit is based on Arnold Lobel’s well-loved books. The whimsical musical follows two great friends – cheerful Frog and grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons. The show is suitable for ages 3 to 12. A kid-friendly buffet is included in the ticket price. Runs February 21-March 28 at the Derby Dinner Playhouse. You can purchase tickets here.
