FUN FOURTH FACTS

The Declaration of Independence wasn’t signed on July 4 or even in the month of July.

Early 4th of July celebrations weren’t that much different than today with fireworks and the ringing of bells.

Eating salmon on July 4th is a tradition in New England.

Massachusetts was the first state to recognize the holiday.

The oldest annual 4th of July celebration is held in Bristol, Rhode Island.

The shortest July 4th parade is in Aptos, California, going only half a mile.

There are about 15,000 fireworks celebrations every Fourth.

Americans consume roughly 150 million hot dogs on Independence Day.

Three presidents have died, and one was born on the Fourth of July.

Leah Driver attended the June “Pearls of Wisdom” networking event, sponsored by One Southern Indiana. The main speaker was Kim Halbauer, Regional President of Fifth Third Bank.
